The Resource Connection of Amador and Calaveras Counties of San Andreas, CA is looking to hire a full-time Director of our Child Care Resource and Referral Program. This Director of our Child Care Resource and Referral Program position pays a competitive salary starting at $67,000 annually, depending on education, skills, and experience. In addition, we offer a full range of full-time benefits including health insurance at a cost of $75.00 per month. You may elect dental, vision, AFLAC, and a 401(k) plan. We provide 12 paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, life insurance, and an employee assistance program (EAP). Founded in 1980 as the Human Resources Council, we are a community-based, nonprofit organization providing specialized services to Amador and Calaveras counties in the three critical areas of children and families, nutrition, and prevention and intervention. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THE DIRECTOR OF OUR CHILD CARE RESOURCE AND REFERRAL PROGRAM


As the Director of our Child Care Resource and Referral Program, you are like the conductor of a great orchestra. And, there is no musical talent needed! You compose strategic plans in order to best perform our mission by expanding and refreshing our Child Care Resource and Referral services. Each staff member makes a unique contribution. But under your expert direction, the resulting symphony is greater than its parts.


You provide direction to 11 staff members and inspire them to play their parts beautifully. You also participate in the strategic recruitment and training of staff. Your excellent interpersonal and communications skills are instruments for your success as you interact with other businesses, professional organizations, and community groups as a resource and advocate.


Part of what you do is an art, and part of it is analytical. You manage a budget of $5 million and collaborate with Finance to determine program costs and create systems to track the impact of our services, seeking out grantors to support the program as needed. You never use "that's the way it's always been done" as an excuse but are always finding ways to improve our performance.


Possess a firm understanding of various grants provided by the Calfiornia Department of Education (CDE).You understand the importance of rules and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations as well as funder requirements. Practice makes perfect, and you regularly participate in professional development activities to keep current with issues and trends affecting families, child care providers, and the community being served.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE DIRECTOR OF OUR CHILD CARE RESOURCE AND REFERRAL PROGRAM

  • Bachelor's degree in child development or a related field OR equivalent management experience
  • 24 units of early childhood education (ECE)
  • 5 years of experience including 3 years of experience in the administration of government-funded child development or human services programs
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and objectives of the California Department of Education Early Learning and Care Programs OR comparable early childhood programs
  • Ability to pass a criminal background clearance
  • Ability to travel throughout the region regularly along with some state-wide and out-of-state travel


A Child Development Program Director Permit and experience in nonprofit management is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Are you able to communicate effectively with diverse people in different roles? Can you prioritize and delegate effectively? Are you strategic and able to think long-term? Do you exercise good judgment and discretion? Are you patient, respectful, tactful, and calm under pressure? If so, then you might just be perfect for this executive management position in human services!


EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT WORK SCHEDULE


This human services executive management position typically works regular business hours of 8 hours per day, Monday - Friday. But some evening and weekend work may be necessary.
